This page compiles those public bulletins in one place so you can check volcano status and recent quakes at a glance. Status lines are shown exactly as posted, so most volcano details appear in Filipino.

PHIVOLCS volcano alert levels
LVL 0Normal. No magmatic eruption is foreseen.
LVL 1Low-level unrest. Slight increase in activity above the baseline.
LVL 2Increasing unrest. Probable magmatic activity that could lead to eruption.
LVL 3Magmatic unrest. Increased chance of a hazardous eruption within weeks.
LVL 4Hazardous eruption imminent, possible within days.
LVL 5Hazardous eruption in progress.

How to read this page

The volcano alert level is PHIVOLCS' summary of how restless a volcano is, from 0 (normal) to 5 (hazardous eruption in progress). The earthquake magnitude badge shows the strength of each quake: most quakes under magnitude 3 are not felt, while magnitude 6 and above can cause damage near the epicenter. Depth matters too, since shallow quakes are felt more strongly. Everything here is compiled from PHIVOLCS' public Facebook posts and may lag the official bulletin. Always verify with PHIVOLCS before making decisions.
